Joey Vega

I like to get up there and wing it. I have a set act but I like to interact with the audience.”

That, in a nutshell, sums up Joey Vegas’ approach to stand-up. Good looking and easy-going, Joey Vega makes audiences laugh and makes them think.

Born and raised in New York City, Joey received some of his acting training at the HB studios. He uses that training for his roles in feature films and television. Most recently, Joey appeared on The Sopranos and has made several appearances on Law & Order.   Joey acted with Sally Field and Tom Hanks in the movie Punchline, and with Matt Damon and Ed Norton in Rounders.  He has also appeared in independent films such as Ryder P.I., An Eastside Story.

“The acting is great, but performing in front of a live audience is my first love.”

He performs all over the world.  Whether it’s a packed house in Atlantic City with Chris Rock, or in front of 15,000 people at Madison Square Garden with Marc Anthony, Joey has so much fun on stage that you can’t help but have a great time watching him.

Joey and two of his closest friends have just completed a documentary film about their long-time friendship and their lives as stand-up comics. The film, titled The Latin Legends of Comedy, received rave reviews from the Phoenix film festival, The Chicago film festival, The Palm Beach film festival and the New York Latino film festival.   Joey’s own stand-up comedy show, the Latin Ratpack of Comedy, has also been very successful, packing the Mohegan Sun Casino with 3,000 people.

Joey Vega has made his mark in the world of entertainment.  He’s traded laughs with Howard Stern; been one of only three comedians personally selected by Rosie O’Donnell to appear on her show; and was the first Latino to host his own nationally syndicated variety show, The Latin Connection.

Whether it’s making people laugh doing his stand-up, performing on television, or acting on the silver screen, you’ll be glad Joey Vega is on the job.   AND LOVING IT!
